Our Mission
Our mission is to provide educational opportunities and programming for all students and their families and in particular, students and families in underserved communities. Our programs are based upon the belief that all students can learn and deserve to maximize their potential.
According to the 2008 National Education Association Policy Brief, partnerships between families, educators, and communities help to ensure that all students in PreK to high school have the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. In fact, one common characteristic of high-performing schools is community support and involvement (Henderson & Mapp, 2002). It is Moving Beyond Barriers aim to collaborate with schools, families and communities to provide wraparound services and extended learning opportunities to bridge opportunity gaps by engaging and educating families and providing academic enrichment for students from pre-school to high school and beyond.
